Mr. Bush Meets the Press

Check out the transcript of President Bush’s presser today. RealClearPolitics has a link to it. The idea that Bush is inarticulate is largely, I think, a side effect of his extraordinarily successful effort to avoid saying anything that might hurt him. Most of the time he is tiptoeing around a lot of landmines and he usually practices caution at the expense of verbal agility. Bush may have seemed bumbling at times during his debates with Kerry, but he never talked about passing global tests or unilateral disarmament to inhibit nuclear proliferation.

What a difference an election makes. Today Bush is funny, confident and, yes Virginia, he is articulate.

That, ladies and gentlemen, is our President for four more years. God bless him.
